


Born in Guyana, South America, Brian-Alwyn Newland was brought to the United States at the age of two. He attended grade school in Brooklyn, New York. It was not until his family moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where Brian-Alwyn found his voice in music.
Brian-Alwyn’s musical influences began with Shirley Lyons, a choral professor from Northport middle school. Ms Lyons presented a showcase concert which included songs from “The Aadams’ Family” which evoked the interest of singing for Brian-Alwyn. Brian-Alwyn’s growth was aided with his participation in multiple concerts at various venues in Port Saint Lucie. His musical preparation in middle school was a deciding factor as he entered high school at attended Fort Pierce Central High School.
